Could you please introduce yourself?

Hey guys this is N3RY and CHICO CAS – SMACKTOWN, Australia’s Dirtiest Electronic Hip Hop Crew




Who made up the bandname ?

Well we were sitting in a club in the city one night off our faces “Smacking out” is the term we use here in Australia , I looked around and said “we’re in a town of smack”, and a friend says “haha A Smacktown” and the rest is history.




Where did your nickname come from?

[N3] My original middle name is Nery and I have been called that from birth.

[Chico] Since I’ve always been the shortest guy they called me “Chico”, a Spanish term for short , and the Cas stands for my initials.




May you describe your music ?

hmmm the best way to describe our music is Powerful , Heavy , Aggressive, breaks barriers in music, punches you right in the face & not for the faint hearted.





How did the audience reply to your music?

Our crowd response we have had so far has been wild, mosh pits, crowd surfing, stage diving, the combination of our audience and our music makes buildings tremble.

What do you talk about in your songs ?

Well we tend to put a poetic and clever twist to our lyrics so we give fans something to think about and enjoy whilst we touch many subjects, for example in “feeling good” we talk bout enjoying life, ladies, parties etc, then we have “Jump the fuck up” in which we get very political and we express our anger in how fucked up the world is, then “Smacktillian shuffle” is more a party track that represents who Smacktown is and who Smacktown fans (smacktillians) are.




What are your main influences?

Well lyrically we listen to alot of Lil Wayne and Tech N9ne and musically artist like Huoratron, Les Petit Pilous, Gtronic, MPK Boyz noise and also many Heavy rocks bands such as Soul Fly, Metallica, Static X, Slipknot.





What are you currently working on? Can we expect any EP or LP ?

Yeah our EP is almost complete just waiting on a few remixes, and dealing with distributors and labels to finalize the release. Be on the look out its going to be very soon.


What do you think of aussie electro/hip-hop scene ?

There is an electro scene and there is a hip hop scene, but we are the only artists to take music to the next level and fuse both genres, so its headed off to a great start.
